~NAMES~

Inuyasha= Dog Demon (also can be translated as Dog Demon Spirit or Dog Forest Spirit [connection is that he lived in a forest in the beginning...])

Kagome= Tightly Woven Bamboo Pattern

Miroku= Umm....don't have a clue what his name means...

Sango= coral

Kirara= mica

Shippo= Seven Treasures (can also mean Tail)

Inu no Taisho= Dog General (Dog Leader)

Naraku= Abyssmal Hell (can also mean Theater Basement!!!)

Kagura= Ceremonial Dance

Kanna= Canna Lily

Kikyou (Kikyo)= Chinese Bellflower (Crysanthemum)

Keade (Kaede)= Maple Leaf

Hiten= Fly Heaven

Manten= Full Heaven

Sesshomaru= Killing Life Circle, Destruction Man.

Rin= Holy Savior

Kouga (koga)= Steel Fang

Tetsusaiga= Steel Cleaving Fang

Tensaiga= Heavenly Fang

Souunga= umm...okay...I think it was something grass cloud fang something......

Midori-Ko= Green Child

Izayoi= Umm......no clue...right now.....

Bishounen= Literally "handsome boy "

Bishoujo= Pretty Girl

Boku = I

-Chan [chan]: A suffix used on the end of people's names to denote affection for them. Only used when referring to someone below you. Older boys and men refer to girls this way, girls call each other -chan and children use it for just about everyone including their parents

Chi= Power (blood too....)

Chibi= Runt or small person

Chikyuu = Earth

Chotto= Just a moment.

Daijoubu = I'm okay!

Demo= But

Desu = Is

Domo = Thanks

Doku= Posion

Douzo = Please ( Please Take This)

Etchi = A perverted person, perverted thoughts

Etou... = Uh…

Genki = Alright, happy

Hakama = Pants. Ones like Inuyasha's or Kikyo's. They are those wide pants which a miko or samurai mostly wears.

Hanyou= Half Demon *^-^*!

Hana= Flower (Blossom)

Haori = a coat like Inuyasha's kimono.

Hiraikotsu=Boomerang Bone

Hi= Fire

Hito= Person

Hoshi = Star

Houshi= Buhddist monk

Imoto-chan = Sister (little)

Jaki = Evil aura

Jigoku = Hell (weird thing is that Naraku also means hell...)

Kawaii= Cute

Kimi = You

Keo= Clan 

Kitsune = Fox

Kowaii= Scarey

-Kun= A suffix used on the end of people's names if they are below the speaker in status and usually male or by girls to their male peers. Kagome calls Kouga, "Kouga-kun"

Kuso = Shit

Kuso Tare= Equivilant ToShithead’ (umm...sorry... for Inuyasha says what decoding...)

Masaka = Impossible/ It Can’t Be

Matte = Wait

Miko = Shinto priestess

Minna = everyone

Mirai = Future

Musume = Daughter

Namae= Name

Ne?= Well?

Nani= What

Netsuke = a small carved figurine

Ningen = Human

Ojiisan = the high respect term for grandfather. Jiisan is less formal and Jii-chan would mean grampa and would only be used by girls and young boys or if you were meaning to be disrespectful of older men. Sort of like calling someone 'gramps'

Okaasan= the high respect term for mother. Kaasan is less formal. You would refer to your mother as "Haha" which is less formal. Your friend would call her "your-name no Kaasan"

Oni= Demon/Spirit/Ghost/Goblin/Ogre

Osuwari= The command to sit as used on dogs

Otousan= the high respect term for father. Tousan is less formal and Tou-chan would mean daddy and would only be used by girls and young boys or if you were meaning to be disrespectful of older men. Chichi is also what you'd call a father as well for less formal gesture. (like Inu-chichi!) It's sorta like calling him daddy or papa too.

Oyasumi (nasai) = Good night.

Fuku = Japanese Schoolgirl outfit

Gouki= Demonic Poison (Naraku has this ability at one point...)

Ran= Orchid

Sakura= Cherry

-Sama = shows respect for someone of much higher class than you. VERY POLITE AND RESPECTFUL!

Sengoku Jidai = Era (Jidai) of war (Sengoku), c. 1500-1670. A time in Japan when there was a lot of warlords and no central government.

Shimatta = Damn It

Shinobi = a ninja or spy

Shura= Chaos, Carnage, Bloodbath

Su(m)imasen = Excuse Me (Polite)

Sugoi = Amazing/Awesome

Suki = To like very much.

Teki= Rival, Enemy

Tengoku = Heaven

Tengu= a beaked sort of youkai usually dwelling in mountainous regions

Tenshi = Angel

Wasurenai = Never Forget

Watashi = I

Yarou = Bastard

Youkai= Demon

Youki= Demonic Aura

 

 

~PHRASES~ 

Shikon no Tama = Jewel of the 4 Souls

Yoroshiku= Nice to meet you

Da yo ne = Isn’t that so?

Daijoubu = Are you ok?

Doumo arigatou gozaimasu = Thank you very much (polite)

Douitashimashite = No problem!

Chotto matte kudasai = please wait up

Ganbatte kudasai = Good luck

Genki desu = I’m alright

Gomen nasai = Oops! Sorry!! 

Hijin Ketsusou = Blades of Blood

Honto ni = Really, Truly

Ikimashita =To Do (past)

Ja ne = Good bye, Byes!

Kimi wo aishiteru = I love you

Konban- wa = good evening

Konnichi- wa = good afternoon

Nan da kore = What is this?

Nani ikimashita = What was done?

Ohayo (gozaimasu) = good morning

Shitsureshimasu = excuse me

Sou da yo na = It is, isn’t it?

Sou ka = That's how it is?

Taisetsuna hito = my dear

Tasukete kudasai = please help

Wari Wari = Ok ok, sorry sorry.

Onna no ko no baka = stupid girl

Baka Shoujo = Idiot girl  (stupid girl)
