The Manga is one of the things that makes the world oh... so much sweeter. There are soooo many volumes out in Japanese. I think a total of 395 chapters out there, and over 38 graphic novels. 20 are available in America. You can probably pick 'em up at the nearest comic book store or book store near you.
The Manga is drawn by Rumiko Takahashi. She's one of the best manga artists ever, having written two others of my favorite series: Ranma 1/2 and Mermaid Saga. Inuyasha succeeds Ranma 1/2 by eight years.
Inuyasha was published 1996. New chapters are released per week in Shonen Sunday Magazine.

Here are the different Inuyasha mangas that are out that we have read so far.
1: Kagome meets Inuyasha, the Shikon jewel gets shattered, lots of blood, and then Kagome goes home. 2.) Yura of the hair appears, lots of blood, she dies, one shard down, Sesshomaru appears, lots more blood including ripping a pearl out of Inuyasha's left eye, some fighting over a rusty sword that turns out to be a kickass one, and Inuyasha wins. 3.) A toad demon swallows up a bunch of girls's souls, blood, fire, an ugly prince person, a stupid warrior who does not believe in fighting (how does that sound familiar?), a noh mask, splinters, blood and slimy stuff, another shard down. 4.) Inuayasha becomes human for the first time in the series. Shippo appears, steals shards, Thunder brothers appear, A pyromaniac ghost person tries to kill her brother, and almost goes to hell. 5.) Fight with the thunder bros. Blood. Two more shards. A new character, Kikyo is ressurected. 6.) Dysfunctional relationship between Inuyasha and Kikyo, Kagome comes back to life, Kikyo falls down a cliff, Miroku appears. No blood, a cursed painter creates a whole bunch evil demon people to kill Inuyasha so he could paint a princess, Blood, ink, and another shard. 7.) Sesshomaru's back. Naraku gives him a human arm with a shard. Damn I'm pretty picture. Sesshomaru steals the tetsusaiga. Almost kills Inuyasha, LOTS OF BLOOD. Punched through the stomach. Sesshomaru retreats, and Naraku takes back the shard. Inuyasha sends Kagome back to her time for good. 8.) A demon tries to kill Inuyasha, Kagome comes back. Inuyasha fights better, Kagome saves the demon from head splitting open. Kikyo comes back, steals a whole bunch of girls' souls, Inuyasha almost gets taken to hell, Kagome saves him. 9.) The Peach man. Inuyasha becomes a human while facing a man-eating Peach Man. Plus, Sango makes her first appearance. 10.) Sango vs. Inuyasha. Sango believes Inuyasha killed her family and her village. They discover that it's Naraku's doing, and Sango joins the group. Also, they find out more about the Shikon no Tama's origin and they confront a false water god. 11.) Miroku falls into a deadly trap when his wind tunnel is ripped....more blood. Kohaku shows up...more blood...Sango steals the tetsusaiga. 12.) Confronting Naraku. Kagome almost kills Naraku, while Kohaku makes off with Naraku's head.. Not so much blood. Jinegi is there... um...blood.... and then they come across an arena where demons tear eachother apart. 13.) Kikyo is kidnapped by Naraku. There are tons of vine-thingys that try to kill the Inu-tachi. Kikyo tries to kill Kagome... Sesshomaru returns. Inuyasha learns the Wind Scar. 14.) Koga (Yay!) kidnaps Kagome. They fight Birds of Paradice... blood. Kagome is called, "Koga's Woman". Inuyasha gets jealous. Kagome goes home. 15.) Naraku has almost all the shards now. He creates Kagura and Kanna. Kagura slaughters the Wolf Demon Tribe except Koga, Hakkaku, and Ginta. Koga is poisoned. LOTS of BLOOD. Kagura is defeated. She comes back. A girl that loves Miroku meets the gang. She gets her soul stolen. Inuyasha vs. Kagura again. 16.) Inuyasha gets defeated by his own windscar. Kikyo messes stuff up again. Inuyasha's tetsusaiga breaks. He becomes full demon. LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF BLOOD. Kagome's sit calms him down to hanyou stage again. Gets Totousai to fix it. 17.) Totousai fixes tetsusaiga. Sesshomaru again with a cool new sword called Toujikin made from Goshinki's fangs. Blood splatter splatter. Koga comes back. Inu and Koga fight a demon called Kaguromaru and Juromaru. 18.) Inuyasha kills the Naraku's alter egos Juromaru and Kaguromaru. Koga leaves. Inuyasha sees Kikyo again. Chooses her. Kagome goes home. Kagome comes back. Inuyasha takes back his promise. And they discover that Kohaku is alive! 19.) Inuyasha discovers he's been tricked, but also realizes that Kohaku still retains some of his humanity. Inuyasha then encounters a demon leader of a band of theives who are ravaging a villiage, and becomes a full demon...and unfortunately kills them all......and retains no memory of committing that crime (shucks...what a bummer!). 20.)Inuyasha learns that he must kill Ryokutsei in order to never become a full demon again. Unfortunately, Ryokutsei is revived from it's sealment and attacks Inuyasha. Inuyasha learns the Backlash Wave and destroys Ryokutsei. Then, Kagome and Inuyasha encounter a Dark Miko named Tsubaki who curses Kagome with the shards of the Shikon Jewel!MORE TO COME!
